Spiritual Formation Education

Spiritual Formation

All students participate in a spiritual formation class as part of our comprehensive Christian curriculum. For the 2025-26 school year, featured speakers will assist students in learning how to effectively research the Scriptures. Our M.A.D.E. program, which stands for Missions, Apologetics, Discipleship, and Evangelism, highlights a different focus each week, enhancing our discipleship program.

Week 1: Missions

Week 2: Apologetics

Environment

This school's focus is on a discipleship program that emphasizes spiritual formation. We help grow and educate students in their faith through a robust Christian curriculum. We also identify academically gifted students using Progress Monitoring (MAP) and IXL, encouraging them to begin college classes as early as the 9th grade.

Christian Curriculum

The curriculum at WCA emphasizes a Biblical World View, integrating a strong Christian curriculum that fosters spiritual formation. Exceptional KDE state certified teachers deliver engaging lessons in English, Math, Science, and History, showcasing their mastery of content. Additionally, our discipleship program supports students in their personal growth and understanding of faith. Examples of the curriculum utilized at WCA include Bob Jones University Press, Glencoe, MasterBooks, and Ramsey Solutions.

To be honest, I wasn't originally for the school, but I would be lying to you if I didn't tell you that I have severely appreciated it. This school, with its strong Christian curriculum, has seriously impacted my spiritual walk. It has helped me realize that God has called me to be a pastor and has provided me the opportunity to pursue this role through their discipleship program. Additionally, it has enabled me to help those around me. This school has allowed me to take on the responsibility of managing the live videos, which has further enriched my experience. Academically, I have also seen remarkable improvement; I was an average B student, but this school has helped me become a straight-A student. I have had the chance to enroll in multiple dual enrollment classes, such as Financial Literacy and Communications, which have contributed to my spiritual formation. Overall, this school has been a huge blessing in my life, and I have no regrets about attending here.

I attended a normal public school, initially deciding against joining a Christian curriculum because I believed it might limit my opportunity to teach others about Christ. I thought I wouldn't be influenced, but I could impact others. That year, I was proven wrong. The first part of the year was fine until the last semester, when things took a turn for the worse. I realized I was becoming friends with the wrong crowd. Eventually, I ditched that group and found myself alone, questioning my reality. During that tough time, God used the school to reach me. It was a field trip to Ohio, and I was invited to join because my brother attended. Throughout the trip, I felt God's presence; he grabbed hold of me and set me straight back on track. Immediately after that year, I started attending this school, which has a strong discipleship program focused on spiritual formation. God has been using this school to help reach both believers and unbelievers, and I pray that he continues to do his will through us.

I began my freshman year of public school, but it rapidly took a toll on my mental health. My friend told me about this school with a strong Christian curriculum and asked my parents whether I could switch. They agreed, and now I'm receiving a fine Christian education that emphasizes spiritual formation. Any areas that I have struggled with drew extra attention from my teachers, thanks to the school's discipleship program. I moved from a C-D student to getting straight A's, all thanks to the small class sizes.
